Cant load into a lot

I havent played the sims since april and I have some mods. When I try loading into a lot itll load for a few seconds and then kick me back out onto the worlds screen, it keeps doing that everytime i try reloading into any lot on the game. I also just bought the fairy expansion pack. I dont know how to check if there is a problem with my mods or not. Could someone help me out?

  • Kana2024  Remove the Mods folder and see whether you can load into a lot.  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.

Remove the mod folder from the sims folder and put it back after wards?

I put it back and it was still not working so i updated all my of my mods on cursed forge and tried to replace the old gameplay mods with the updates versions and its still not working. Im at a loss.

  • Kana2024  Please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If the new save is fine, copy one of your old saves from the old Sims 4 folder to the new one and try loading a lot in that save.

Don't add ANY mods or custom content until your game is working again.

Okay I did exactly what you said and just finished adding an old save to my new folder, its working fine without the mods and its running smoothly. Do i add the mods back ? or can i do something about my old save folder because i dont really want to lose my saves on my old folder and i just spent an hour and a half creating a sim.

  • Kana2024  You can try your other saves if you want, in the new folder, first without mods.  The sims you've created are in the Tray folder, and they're unlikely to cause the issue you're seeing.

Once you've moved over your saves and Tray files, and everything is still fine, you can start testing your mods a few at a time, or use the 50/50 method if you have a lot of files to sort through.

Keep in mind that you may have more than one broken mod or cc item.
