Can't play new saves

After the last big update with all the new stairs stuff, I've been unable to play new saves. I click new game and start the save, then I pick a lot to move the household into. When I get to the moving screen where you choose furnished or unfurnished, I click the confirm button and my game freezes. Then I have to alt+f4 to close the game, but it never closes, so I have to shut down my whole computer just to close the game. However, I was able to go into an old save and move to different lots. I've tried to run the game with no mods or cc, and I repaired my game, but it still didn't work. I also made sure my computer is updated. I don't really know what else to do lol

    snoopyxdog​  Please try playing with your computer offline, just as a test.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

    If that doesn't help, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see whether you still have the same issue.
