Lakenshot The problem tabbing back and forth used to be a common issue with the DirectX 11 version of Sims 4, but it was supposed to have been fixed a few patches ago. Using PrntScrn also counts as tabbing out in this case, at least as far as it started off not working in DX11 mode. What version are you currently running? You can see it at the Main Menu, in the lower-left corner of the screen.
For the screen going black when you close the list of mods and cc, I haven't heard of that before, at least not recently. If you just want that not to happen, you can suppress the mods/cc pop-up at the Main Menu. This will also speed up the initial loading time, so it's worth trying at least.
puzzlezaddict Thanks for taking the time to respond! I was always using PrntScrn before and it never tabbed me out. Im currently running version 1.115.253.1020 DX11 .
I turned off my cc being shown at startup like you said and but it didnt make a difference to my screen going black for a few seconds everytime i tab into the game. Maybe if i switch to DX9?
