Cash Registers Do Not Work in Businesses and Hobbies.

Hello,

I am finding Businesses and Hobbies very frustrating to play. The first time I tried it was in a Karoake bar and Nightclub. My issue there was no customers were coming in. Not even with a ticket machine, which was pretty useless.

Now, I have a lot with three different businesses from three different sims. One of them is a clothing shop. I tried to click on the cash register and nothing happens. I had sims coming in and no one buying anything.

I thought that this pack has cross compatibility. But it's not compatible with Get to Work, which is the pack where the cash registers came from and was working.

Both the ticketing machines and the cash register should be fixed with this pack, in the next patch. Why would you call it Businesses and Hobbies, when even a cash register in the pack doesn't work?

In real life, most small businesses do use a cash register. How are you going to sell goods without one?

I als have another issue to with this pack. I mentioned that I have three sims owning three businesses on a lot, but I can only open one of them at a time. Why is that?

I tried to fix it with one Sim giving their business to another in the same household, but that doesn't work if the sime already has a small business and they don't mind owning another one.

But please fix the issue with the cash register and the ticket machine.

I should also note that not all the platforms and shelves that you put the items on to sell will show the price tags when you add the items to sell onthem. Just two of them.

  • The business functions are pack specific as are the objects. Frustrating for sure.

So, how do we get customers to buy. I've already tried to have two sims wear clothes that were on the manequins.

I also think that for those of us who have both Get to Work and Business and Hobbies, the cash registers will be useless. And you should let customers know that there are no cash registers in Businesses and Hobbies, and if they do have Get to Work, those are pretty much useless.

It's going to be frustrating for them to sell anything their sim creates. They would have to rely on a mod that allows all platforms and shelves to have sellable items.

I with the issue with the clothing business, I did add "browse and buy" to my retail store. But that doesn't do anything. I just have my business sim call them over and they just stand there and do nothing. With the Get to Work pack, you click on the cash register and promote the store on social media that way, and the customers came. But not with Businesses and Hobbies. How is my sim who owns that shop going to make money when their customers come in and do nothing and just stand there? Is there a way for my sim to get other sims to come in a buy stuff?

I might also be one of those who have Sims stuck in their business in that pack too.

If you have not done this, I'd suggest reading one of the pack overviews and tips on sites like Carl's. I find them very helpful. In regard to getting customers to buy: first, to begin to learn the pack, I'd suggest creating a business using only the small business items. Customers come in, some browse before paying entry if you've set a fee. You welcome them to the business, perform friendly interactions, then do the sales interactions (I'm not in the game right now and can't think of the title.) Customers take the purchased items directly from the shelves or display boards (for paintings and wall hangings).
