Crash since update 09/18/24

I feel you. My game has been broken since July... sucks when you spent so much money on expansion packs -_-

mine only get to sims 4 then crashes not happy 

Missval22  If you have any files in ConfigOverride, please delete them.

Otherwise, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the camera (Insert Media) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Missval22  If you have any mods or custom content you want to use right now, test that first.  Start here for a list of mods and cc known to be broken with the latest patch:

For anything not on that list, you'll need to test yourself.  If you have a lot of files to go through, the 50/50 method can make the process much more efficient.

After that, you can move your saves to the new Sims 4 folder that's spawned in Documents > Electronic Arts.  You'll likely want the contents of Tray (saved households and builds) as well, plus maybe Screenshots and Recorded Videos.  The UserSetting.ini file contains data about the login rewards, and possibly the accountDataDB.package as well.  The rest can be discarded.

Same, game was working well for me until this patch and now it seems to crash unpredictably, that is, if I can even get started. Tried with and without cc (less than a handful of small files). Noticed that even during build mode that the game seemed to be behaving weirdly so wasn't surprised that it crashed. 

Mine loads to the main menu, but it is all messed up. I cannot even make a new sim or load into my previous family. I deleted and updated everything. Did everything I saw on here and even repaired it. Nothing.

In my case I enabled the checkbox to use DirectX9 (in Game Options > Graphics) and it seems to have solved the crashing issue.

However I can't really help much since I'm running the game on a Linux distro, I will add though, that in 5 years of doing so I never had a crash until this update.

Many people are reporting critical errors. Meanwhile EA added two new kits and an event that produces more errors. I think that pretty much explains what EA thinks and what they plan to do. 

Missval22  Most of the errors in your dxdiag are serious crashes of the graphics driver.  Since you already have the current driver installed, you'll need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall.  Here's how:

Please test first in a new save, then with one of your main saves, both with no mods or cc.
