I'm to the point I'm ready to just delete the whole game. This happened back in August and was down for three days and now again it's down. I know there are people on this forum advising everyone what they need to do but it's obvious nothing is working. I was actually getting ready to order an expansion pack but not now

I agree! I posted about it and I still haven't been able to play since the day EA forced a update ( I have mine intentionally disabled) 😤

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both EA and the game 3 times. In fact, the first reason I uninstalled was because I was so frustrated. In doing so, I also wiped out about 15,000 CC files and saves, and tray files. Yes, I have a Lenovo Legion PC - absolutely the best PC in the whole world for this game, and any other, I think. I cleared all my save, tray, and mods files and thought I'd just start from scratch... so consequently I keep getting the "Failed Launch" I thought they were just maybe being nice and it was something I did... guess they are right, at least as far as I know.

cara_mon01234 Please check your antivirus for Sims 4-related actions, and allow the game if necessary. Please also let me know whether OneDrive is running on this computer.
I don't see anything obviously wrong in your dxdiag, although it's worth disabling Game Mode and Game Bar, both under Windows Settings > Gaming.
If none of the above helps, please create a new admin Windows account and try playing there. Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account or any email address. You'll be able to (try to) launch the game without reinstalling anything.

I managed to figure out how to get the game to work again. BAD NEWS is I had to rename the file- losing all of my previous saves, lots, mods etc. I will slowly be adding mods etc to narrow down the culprit.
If you get desperate enough like me it'll probably work for you too!! Good luck friends!
Rename the Sims 4 Folder
Go to your Documents → Electronic Arts.
Inside you’ll see a folder called The Sims 4.
Rename it to something like:
The Sims 4_old
(or whatever you like, as long as it’s different).
Launch the game.
The Sims 4 will automatically create a fresh, brand-new “The Sims 4” folder with clean saves, no mods, and default settings.👉This forces the game to start completely fresh, without touching any of your old saves, caches, or configs.
☝️If the game runs normally this way, you know something in your old folder (like a corrupted save, tray item, or leftover mod data) was causing issues.
If it still won’t load lots even with the brand-new folder, then it confirms it’s 100% the August patch bug , not your files

>>> I couldn't load from the neighbor hood or into lots, nor buy lots.

Disabling game mode and game bar was the only thing that worked!

Just tried it... heavy sigh - didn't work either. I am happy it worked for you. :)

I have cleaned EA & Games totally off my PC. I have taken my CC, Saves & Tray files to my separate Back-up Drive. I have disconnected from OneDrive and cleared all EA files off of OneDrive. After I confirmed all EA files were off my PC and OneDrive, I then closed my PC and reinstalled EA and games, then retried my game - same song second verse.... This was updated the same day that Windows released an update to Windows 11 within possibly a half hour.
I read a tip to remove any "Macsox" files, which I usually do, but forgot to check. I found one... I was ecstatic, I thought I'd found the issue. I checked/cleaned my files again and then tried this whole process over again - I still could not launch my game. I have totally cleared my PC from EA and games, CC, Saves (which I deleted - plan to start from scratch, and Tray files were also deleted.) All my CC is on my segregated backup drive. I also saw a post about DX files, so I am including my DxDiag.txt file for analysis...
If EA is saying that the error is on their end, why isn't it fixed, or at least some communication about it? ie; why don't we hear about any progress or reason for this? Why are some people getting it to launch, albeit not without errors, but at least it launches - I own all of the Sims4 packs, stuff paks, kits, etc, and have the new preorder submitted. This really sux!!

doesnt matter what us players do, EA has always got an issue! they need to do better.

Wow... Thanx EA. Finally can launch the game!! I just did my same routine - find all ea/sims, delete everything related - signed out of OneDrive, cleaned everything out of there, just cleared everything, and started from scratch with a "Vanilla" game (AGAIN), only this time it seems to work. EA must have done something - trust me, I know my routine. Thank you, EA. Now I'm going to add my mod Mgrs. and then try to add my Mods just a few at a time and see what happens. I'll keep you posted.

GrandmaChocolate Please do a clean uninstall and reinstall of your computer's Nvidia graphics driver, as described here:
You can use the newest driver provided by Nvidia:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/results/253163/
If that doesn't help, please post a new dxdiag.
cara_mon01234 Glad to hear it helped, and thanks for the update.
