Dating bugs in Sims4 - unable to complete date actions

Hello - I've seen others have a similar issue that was posted about on Reddit about 2 days ago. 

Currently, when dating it seems there are issues trying to fulfill some of the date actions. It appears to change, I think. For me, the issue was just being unable to complete the "Socialize about Meal" action... but I am currently doing another date with my sims, and I've ordered food for myself and my date and the action "Order Food for Yourself and Your Date" stays unchecked. 

For the "socialize about meal" it doesn't matter how many times I try "Discuss Food Flavours" or "Complain about Dish" - neither of these will complete the action. 

My date is not progressing, period. I've attached a screenshot below so you can see I'm stuck on these actions and will barely get a bronze at this point. Is anyone else having this issue? Any way to fix it or does EA need to do another update? (I read it was some update that broke it).
