calwred So the updated game version is through the EA App? If so, but you want to play through Steam, I'd do a clean uninstall of Sims 4 and the EA App, but not Steam if you own any other games there. (Uninstalling Steam would delete these games if your Steam library is within the launcher's program files, which it is by default.) A clean uninstall gets rid of residual files that the normal uninstall process leaves behind. Here's how to do it:

i was playing Sims 4 through steam originally and then the update on DEC 2nd happened and for some reason it would update on steam, i tried multiple times, i asked about it on steam and they said it was a EA problem, and someone here said i would have to update steam. well I did a update on steam and the problem wasn't fixed. So i unistalled the game on steam and loaded it through the EA app. When it was on steam, i couldn't even play the game after the update, and now i can by using the EA App.
I don't need to unistall game from EA, if I did, and tried to install in steam, I would perhaps right back at square 1 and will be unable to play the game.
