dec 2 update through steam

4\__installer\DLC\fp01\__installer\cleanup.dat I get this error code when i try to download the patch through steam , according to steam the download was done, but when the patch is working, it comes up content locked. I had my mods in the game files the first couple of times, but the last few times i tried, they weren't there, i had moved them to a different folder in my comp.

✅ Fixes to Try
Clear EA App cache: In EA App → Help → App Recovery → Clear Cache. Restart and retry.

Run as administrator: Right-click EA App/Origin → Run as Administrator before updating.

Check firewall/antivirus: Temporarily disable or whitelist EA App/Origin.

Repair the game: In EA App → Library → Sims 4 → Manage → Repair.

Switch launcher: If you’re on Steam/Epic, try updating directly via EA App.

Retry later: Server congestion on patch day can cause “connection locked” errors. Waiting a few hours often resolves it.

I have cleared the cache, checked the firewall, checked the game in the app, and sees no line to repair under manage, no way seeing how to do the download through the EA app, the only thing it is does is to start play. I started last night and have been trying on and off for the past 12 hours and the whom basic time i am getting the content locked message, it gets to 99% and the stops and the message appears. One thing had me delete the EA app and then reinstall it, still no way to repair it, and since i have no desktop icon for it, i cannot run as admin

i was playing Sims 4 through steam originally and then the update on DEC 2nd happened and for some reason it would update on steam, i tried multiple times, i asked about it on steam and they said it was a EA problem, and someone here said i would have to update steam. well I did a update on steam and the problem wasn't fixed. So i unistalled the game on steam and loaded it through the EA app. When it was on steam, i couldn't even play the game after the update, and now i can by using the EA App.

I don't need to unistall game from EA, if I did, and tried to install in steam, I would perhaps right back at square 1 and will be unable to play the game.
