calwred​  I'm not saying you need to reinstall the Steam version in a vacuum, and in fact you don't need it at all if you own all your DLC through the EA App.  But if you own content in Steam, then it's worth trying to get it back by reinstalling through Steam.  And you wouldn't need to update since the fresh install would give you the current game version.  It could still fail to install correctly, of course, but at least that wasn't your original issue.
