Game crashes at different moments

Hey there. Ever since the last update, my game crashes at random moments. Sometimes I'm able to play for irl 1-2 hours, save the game, no problems. Other times, it has crashed when I've moved the camera around, went into CAS, traveled to a different lot, tried saving or the moment I load my main family. 

I have tried with no mods, a clean folder and a new game and it still crashed a few seconds into playing a random household. Then I put the game on Windowed mode with mods and it worked for one game session with my main family then started to crash again on another game session. Then I went back to no mods, a clean folder, new game, and it worked. Then I introduced the old folder with mods, put the EA App offline, tried a new household. Played the game for 12 Sim hours, no crashes. Went to my main family's lot, was able to save the game and exit. Booted up my main family again today and it crashed going into CAS. Tried again and it crashed while trying to move them to a new lot.

I'm very confused as I've never had the game just freeze and shut down in the 10+ years I've been playing TS4. Usually if something is mod-related, my family won't load or when traveling it defaults to the neighorhood select screen. The problem is also really inconsistent, which futher confuses me.
