Game Crashing: Failed to Launch Game

I keep getting the "Failed to Launch" error message when I'm trying to load my current game and its driving me nuts!

I open the game, and make it to the home screen, then go to 'Load Game' and the whole thing crashes and I get the "Failed to Launch Game. An error on our end caused the launch to fail. Try again a little later"

I've tried playing in a clean user folder, which seems to work, but if I go back to the folder with my current game it keeps having the Failed to Launch error.

I haven't had any issues recently, and my game updated itself either yesterday or today (can't remember) and I'm not sure if I've tried to play since. I don't use any cc's or mods either.

I had to completely start over with a new Sim. Trying to build her a new prettier house so I don’t know if I will be able to move her there yet….. I will be moving her sometime today. Will post if I can move her or not. But with the September "update" the whole game broke again. I will buy Nothing until EA FIXES THESE CRASHING BUGS!!! Too bad because there are at least 2 packs and a couple kits I want. Sooooooo………

It is so heartbreaking to lose a good Sim after a simple "update". Starting over is beyond frustrating…… I just couldn’t fix it after all the hoops and mountains to climb to uninstall, reinstall, turn off mods , move mods, lose all my builds and Sims.   EA has cost me Days and days and Hours of hard work on my game. I love building then testing my builds. EA takes all the joy and pleasure out of the game with all their breakdowns……. No new packs makes Mr Very Happy if they actually do concentrate of fixing their errors….. gads! Stop blaming players who are peacefully playing this game their way and just fix your EA Errors….. sigh……

Your saves and Tray files are probably fine, as are Screenshots and Recorded Videos, and the Options.ini file as well (saved in-game options).  The rest can be discarded.
