  • Emelyn702  When does the game crash?  If it's before the Main Menu, please remove your saves folder from Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and try again.  If this works, you have a known issue:

If that doesn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • It crashes in game, not before the main menu. Okay sure, I’ll send one over.

  • Emelyn702  Please update the driver for your Nvidia graphics card.  You can use the newest driver provided by Nvidia:

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

As a side note, is there a reason you're playing in DirectX 9 mode?  You'd have needed to select it manually, or force it in the EA App, since the game would always default to DX11 mode on your computer.

Okay I’ll try it! Thank you so much! You mean I’m supposed to play on DX11 mode?

  • Emelyn702  It's okay to continue to use DirectX 9 mode if you have a specific reason for it.  But if you don't have a reason to use DX9 mode, DX11 mode is usually better.  I'm just saying switch back and see what happens.  You can revert back to DX9 mode if you want.
