BajanK Here's how to get rid of OneDrive:

If it's already disabled but the game is still reading the OneDrive folder, according to the game itself:

You can either temporarily reenable OneDrive and follow the steps, or you can use the registry edit to force Documents back to the location you want.
As for the Mods folder on the external, you'll need to recreate the symbolic link you've been using to force the game to read that folder. But since you did it correctly the first time, you'll probably do it correctly again. Still, let me know if you have trouble with the process.
I was able to have The Sims no longer read from the OneDrive. I also recreated the symbolic link. I tried playing offline and with my WiFi turned off and the pack pop-ups issue happened again and the lag is still there. I've ran the virus program, malware and nothing was found. I did notice while playing, Disk 0 (c) is at 100%. Do you think this could be the issue?
I was also able to use my phone as a hotspot for my laptop and still experienced the same issues.
A new thing I noticed is when I tried to exit the game, before it closes, it sends me back to the main screen. The mods list will pop up and advertisements for the new kits before the game completes its exit.
