Game won’t launch

Z3milli0nn  Please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If you still can't play, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also let me know whether you've installed the game through the EA App or Steam.

I'm have this problem too ever since the update.

I've got the same problem!! Since the last update I've gotten this notification every time I tried opening the game: "Unable to start" and the subtext was different a couple of times. This time it said "the Sims 4 is already running" but it clearly is not. I've tried re-installing both the EA-app and The Sims 4 and I've tried the clean folder as suggested, but none worked. Here is my dxdiagfile

What should I do after that ? I've moved the entire Sims 4 floder into a clean user folder in the desktop and it started but my saves and mods wasn't there.

It lists workarounds that are also relevent for certain other launch errors, so hopefully it'll address all the errors you're seeing.

Shllmrf212  Test your mods in the clean user folder first to make sure they're not the cause of the problem here.  You can start with this list of mods known to be broken after the latest patch:

For everything else, you'll need to test it yourself.  If you have a lot of files to sort through, the 50/50 method can make the process much more efficient:

Once you've dealt with your mods and cc, you can move over the contents of the saves and Tray (saved households and builds) folders, plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if you care about those, plus accountDataDB.package if you're partway through the login events.  The rest can be discarded.

I've been having the same issues since the update as well. I've tried removing the entire Sims 4 folder, repairing, updating drivers (and repairing again afterwards). I was able to play today in the newly-generated Sims 4 folder (no mods) for about 10 minutes before the game crashed.

Coraltheo  Thanks for the dxdiag.  LEDKeeper is crashing, so please kill it in the Task Manager before opening Sims 4.  It may or may not exist as a standalone entry in the TM's background processes list; if you don't see it, shut down MSI Center or MSI Dragon Center, whatever you find.

If this doesn't help, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

removing the sims 4 folder didnt work, and i installed the game through steam. this is my dxdiag 

Z3milli0nn  If you have Steam family sharing or similar running, please disable it.

If OneDrive is running on this computer, whether you use it or not, please pause syncing.  To see the option, right-click the cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen, or perhaps hidden in the Tray (^ icon).

If these steps don't help, and you get an error when trying to launch Sims 4, please post a screenshot.

I mention these because your dxdiag doesn't list any Sims 4-related errors.  That could mean the errors have been replaced by newer, unrelated ones, or that the seemingly-unrelated errors are in fact the reason the game won't open.  Or it could mean the game is being blocked rather than opening.  So if none of the above is relevant, please let me know what antivirus you use.
