game won't open

game won't open when i click play, first it directly closed as soon as it opened, then it opened ea app instead of the game, and now it simply won't launch at all. i have tried removing EVERY mod, uninstalling the game, rebooting my pc multiple times, updating my drivers, making a clean folder and a lot of other weird technical stuff i've seen online, but nothing worked, i'm just feeling stuck and hopeless and most people i've seen online with a similar issue either have it fixed by removing their mods or just quit and never play again but i'm just really sad because i've only recently started playing again. game worked just fine this morning
oh and there is no error showing or anything, it's just like i never tried to launch the game

  • nopleaseguys  Please try a clean boot while in the new (local, admin) Windows account:

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

Disable Windows Defender's Controlled Folder Access while testing.

Jayydabrat_725  What error, if any, are you currently getting while trying to play?

Nevermind it just started working again???

    Lets go?????

  • nopleaseguys  Are you saying that you can play in a clean boot in the normal account, or that you don't even need a clean boot anymore?  If the former, then the same principle applies: selectively reenable services until you find the one that prevents the game from working.  I suggested you test in the new account to be thorough, just in case there were multiple issues, as in, we wouldn't rule out the clean boot as helpful if it simply didn't work in your existing account.  But if you did only have one problem and the clean boot addresses it, then it should work equally well in any account.

If you don't even need a clean boot anymore, then I'm not sure what changed.  It's possible that something updated on your computer just now, and this is a coincidence.  It's also possible that something was stuck and the clean boot unstuck it—that could be as simple as you hadn't done a proper restart until you had to for the clean boot to work.

At any rate, if you don't have any more problems, then you have nothing to worry about.  If the game stops working again, go back to the clean boot and let me know whether it helps this time around.
