Solved

game won't open

game won't open when i click play, first it directly closed as soon as it opened, then it opened ea app instead of the game, and now it simply won't launch at all. i have tried removing EVERY mod, uninstalling the game, rebooting my pc multiple times, updating my drivers, making a clean folder and a lot of other weird technical stuff i've seen online, but nothing worked, i'm just feeling stuck and hopeless and most people i've seen online with a similar issue either have it fixed by removing their mods or just quit and never play again but i'm just really sad because i've only recently started playing again. game worked just fine this morning
oh and there is no error showing or anything, it's just like i never tried to launch the game

  • nopleaseguys  Please try a clean boot while in the new (local, admin) Windows account:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.

Disable Windows Defender's Controlled Folder Access while testing.

Jayydabrat_725  What error, if any, are you currently getting while trying to play?

ok so Acer's registration software is not in the startup list in the first place for some reason
anyways i updated my driver and restarted my laptop but i still have the same issue, here's the error

  • nopleaseguys  Most of the errors in your dxdiag are from Acer registration software, so I'd suggest disabling that in the Task Manager's Startup list just to get it out of the way.  Even a crash of unrelated software can cause performance issues.

Please also update the driver for your laptop's graphics chip.  Acer doesn't offer a newer driver, but Intel does.  You can get it here:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/226066/intel-core-i712650h-processor-24m-cache-up-to-4-70-ghz/downloads.html

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart the laptop afterwards and before trying to play.

If that doesn't help, are you getting the "failed to launch game" error?  If so, please restart your computer and try again.  I also listed a number of other ways to troubleshoot the error here:

If you're seeing a different error, please post a screenshot of it.

sorry for the late reply, as i said, i already tried to make a clean user folder. Today, i actually got an error message trying to launch the game, i looked at what to do to fix the error but i still can't play for some reason so here's the dxdiag

  • nopleaseguys  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If this doesn't or didn't help, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
