Gaming crashing after about 5-10min

Hii ! So ive been trying to get my game to work for the past like 2 weeks now and it just wont run everytime i open up a  save/new household and play in it for about 10 min i crash  randomly i run fine without mods but the second i try with mods i crash. I tried with just mccc and the staff couldn't help me with my issue and send me here here are some of the things ive done

  • Run a repair
  • Rename folder to "Sims_old" And let the game create a new one
  • Fully reinstalled the game
  • Graphics are up to date

Honestly i have no idea what the issue is and i hope whatever advice you might have it will fix it

I don't know if the files i've attached underneath help with the information at all

  • tatalola  Does your game crash with not mods or custom content at all, as in, you remove the entire Mods folder?  I know you created a new Sims 4 folder, but the test wouldn't be reliable if you added any mods or cc to it before you tried to play.

Please also let us know what platform you play on: Windows or macOS.

I play on windows if i run fully vanilla i seem to not crash at all currently running on the "DirectX9" option aswell and i seem to run better and longer without crashing but i still do

  • tatalola  Please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also let me know what world(s) you're playing in and whether you're playing with fairies.

    Here is the DxDiag :)

  • tatalola  How new is this computer, and are you able to take it in for servicing?  I ask because your dxdiag is full of BlueScreens, four different types.  Three of them are about memory-related processes, but that doesn't mean that the RAM itself is faulty—it could just as easily be the processor, and it might in theory be a different component.  And when you're having so many different types of BSODs, a hardware error becomes more likely, even though the problem could still be software-related.

The only way to test thoroughly is with swapping these components in and out, using other hardware that is confirmed to be working in other systems.  And unless you have another computer from which you could borrow parts, that usually means taking your system to be serviced.

I would certainly like to help, but I can't do anything for you if it turns out your processor is defective or something along those lines.  And if you do ask for warranty service, or someone you know is willing to lend you some components to test with, I would start with the processor, and test the RAM after that.

Its like a year old now in the beginning i had alot of issues with random bluescreens not anymore tho idk but now even without mods my game still crashes everything runs fine except for the sims i could send a list with specs if it would help but honestly idk what the issue is :,) cause even base game doesnt run right after the update

  • tatalola  Your dxdiag lists a whole pile of BSODs, and they have to be recent given that the dxdiag only lists the ten most recent errors.  If you're not seeing them, it's possible they're happening when you're shutting down anyway and the error messages disappear too quickly to notice.  But there are definitely present and concerning.

I do have a couple suggestions for the Sims 4 issue, but I want to make it clear that I think there's a more system-level issue with this computer.  It's your choice whether to pursue that now or wait.

First, please update the BIOS for your motherboard.  I believe this is your board:

    https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z790-GAMING-X-AX-rev-1x/support

But find the exact version (for example on the motherboard itself or on the box it came in) before installing anything.  Your current BIOS version is F11, so if the above page isn't correct, look for anything newer than that, e.g. F13 on that download page.

If that doesn't help, boot into BIOS and disable CPU Turbo Boost, which should be somewhere under Advanced settings.

I can just safely update the bios from that website? (it is the correct motherboard) but like does it matter which version i get i once tried to update and it killed my whole pc i think or well i was told  that was the reasoning so im not sure if i can just update the bios which is why im asking

  • tatalola  If you're installing a BIOS version for exactly your motherboard, the only risk in updating is that you lose power in the middle of the process, which could in fact brick the motherboard.  (Don't disconnect the USB during the process either, of course.)  This particular BIOS version has been available long enough that if it had a potentially-computer-killing issue, someone would have found out by now and pulled it from the download page.
