How do I repair my game?

I am having the same issue multiple other people are having with the Grim Reaper Rewards Quest. Please keep telling me to repair my game. HOW? I play on a PC, no Steam and No Discord. No custom content and No Mods. Can someone please help. I don't want to mess it up more by trying to fix it. Thank you!

  • Close The Sims 4 if it's running. Open the EA app and go to Library. Find The Sims 4 in the main panel and click on the three dots in the top right corner. This should open a small menu with Repair as one of the choices. Good luck.

It's easier than that. Close your game open up the EA App. On the left side of the screen, you'll see your Sims 4 game. Click on that icon and on the page, it takes you to click on Manage. From there, click on repair. Then let it do its thing until it says complete.

Hello, I'm having this same issue and nothing is working. Eveytime I go into the game it stops me and says error then the code [135dec40:984c6a38:00000077:000000000]

I'm so stressed out at this point. This is my favorite game and I can't play it. I've tried eveything. When I go to the EA app on windows, manage it goes to manage add-ons only and no reset or anything. Then when I try on steam, it's the same issue practically. Please help!!

  • MelodyraeV746  The initialization error is typically antivirus-related.  So please set an exception in yours for EADesktop.exe.  Set exceptions for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64 as well, or the entire Bin folder they're in.

If you've installed Sims 4 through Steam, you need to repair through Steam.  The option is called "Verify integrity of the game files" and is under Properties > Local files or similar.

EA wouldn't give me a repair option on their Sims 4 game that I have in my library so I have to redownload it that's the only option I got with this new update 2025. Ugh

Open the EA App. On the left side of the page, you should see the icon of your Sims 4 game. Simply click on that, then click on the one that shows up on the next page. Select Repair on the drop-down menu. Best of luck.

I'm actually having a similar problem, I don't have the option to repair in either EA or Steam. I don't even have a manage option in EA. and the Steam manage option doesn't have anything for repairing the game. I'm mostly having the problem of not being able to save my files. and I've even restarted my pc, and redownloaded sims, which didn't work. Not even my mods are the problem. :/ I'm stumped until another update I guess.
