i could change the language to english but now i can't?

i bought the 25 anniversary bundle and did a return because of the infuriating technical issues. i realized i could change the language of sims 4 to english via ea app, i thought it came with an update or something. after i returned the bundle sims 4 won't run because i need to choose a language and the only availabe ones are polish, russian and czech, which is how it was before buying the 25 anniversary stuff. did they accidentally give me acces to switch sims 4 language to english? because you can install sims 1 and 2 in any language?
