I have done everything to try and fix the lag. I have an RTX 3050 graphics card.

I have a graphics card that should be more than good to run sims 4 with ultra settings and the mods I have. I have about 12 gb of mods installed on my computer. I recently started experiencing really bad lag whenever I move the camera around with my mouse. I use sims 3 camera and whenever I move, I notice lag spikes. I will attached the DxDiag.txt file I did because I know that's asked for a lot based on the discussions I've seen in the past. Everything I have done to try and fix is: 1. Turning mods off and starting a new save with no mods. 2. Completely taking the sims 4 file out of my documents and having the game create a fresh one. 3. I've turned off antivirus, made sure nothing was running in the background, and tried the game in the windowed mode and that didn't work either. Someone please help, my favorite game is becoming a hassle to even try and play :(

  • kladendorf  Do you want to try the GraphicsRules edits described in that other thread?  As I mentioned before, undoing the changes is as simple as deleting the copy of GraphicsRules in ConfigOverride, so you're not risking anything aside from whatever time you spend testing.

Update, testing offline did nothing. I tried to sims 4 camera but that doesn't seem to be working either. I just started having this problem within the last month or so, so I'm not entirely sure what could be causing it. It's just very noticeable and frustrating.

puzzlezaddict I only really notice it whenever I move the camera with the middle mouse button. I turned my fps counter on and it goes from a steady 130ish range to around 50-60 when I move it. Sometimes afterwards, the whole game will just completely drop frames and nothing that I do helps with the problem. I will test in offline mode to see if anything helps. Thank you for the fast reply!

  • kladendorf  Thanks for the dxdiag, but it doesn't list anything concerning.  Does the lag happen only when you're moving the camera, or at other times as well?  If it's not limited to camera movement, please try playing with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

If the lag is only when you move the camera, please test edge scrolling and right-click moving and let me know whether one is better than the other.

You also might benefit from certain edits to GraphicsRules.sgr, but your GPU is borderline for this because it does increase the graphics load to a certain degree.  But if you want to try, please see this post:

If you don't like the results, you can delete the copy of GraphicsRules in ConfigOverride to revert.
