Long story short,i've deleted some random files.But they don't dissapear-especially if i try deleting them again!It always says "Could not find this item".I ended up making a new folder and named it Mods(1),deleting the old mod folder (also i added resource.cfg in the new folder) but did'tn work,so i named it "Mods"-plot twist:the files came back!Can anyone help me?I also own a Windows 7 if that helps which i use to play The Sims 4

This sounds more like a shell problem than anything to do with the game, or mods.When you delete them and then get the "file not found" error, what happens if you refresh the Explorer window? Press F5.Also, does it happen to any non-game-related files?

I agree with jaybud. Windows 7 doesn't always refresh the windows, so sometimes you have to do in manually.Sometimes if you delete a file, it still *looks* like the file is still there. The name might still be listed. If you then try to click on it and delete it again, it will tell you the file can't be found, because it's not actually there.After you delete the files, you refresh the screen. I use F5 to refresh. You can also go to "view" then "refresh". I'm not sure your set-up, but it should be something similar to that. Once you refresh, the file you deleted or moved should be gone.I would try following luthienrising & rosemow's advice, but refreshing after each change.

Drag the folder called Mods to your desktop, delete the file called localthumbcache.package, and start the game up. The game will remake the Mods folder on its own, with nothing but a fresh game-created resource.cfg file in it. Nothing that was in the Mods folder you dragged to the desktop should show in-game after that.

Hello.Reset your sims 4 folder by moving your sims 4 folder ( that is in Documents -Electronic Arts - then the sims 4 folder is there ) to the desktop. Then start the game, and a new sims 4 folder will be generated. Exit the game and then add back the "options.ini" file and the "saves" , "screenshots" "tray" "custom music " folders from the desktop sims 4 folder to the new sims 4 folder, replacing the new generated file/ folders with the old file/folders.Don't replace the mods folder. Instead of doing that, transfer the mods/cc that you would like to keep in your game into the new generated mods folder.

I've deleted some CC but they wont dissapear!

@luthienrising I tried deleting 2 files and they just won't delete! I moved all my other CC and it was fine but there is 2 files from the same creator that just won't let me delete. I tried deleting the whole mods folder but with these 2 files remaining in there it won't let me.

That's what i also thought,but some i wanted to add were made AFTER new patches.

I am glad that you have been able to fix your issue. Are you unable to add new cc to the folder? The new cc may be clashing with the latest patch updates and that is causing issues or stopping it from appearing in your game.

I have somehow fixed it now:I re-downloaded the stuff i deleted,keeping it on a different folder,and in a week-things started to go back to normal.And then i deleted them again without a problem.Except for one:now it won't let me download more than three new cc now (except it lets me keep the cc i already got)But i might fix that one soon

Hello.
Did you try resetting the sims 4 folder and not replacing the mods folder? If you haven't tried that, see if that helps.
