Life and Death Expansion Not available

I preordered and downloaded the new Life and Death Expansion pack and the game doesn't acknowledge that I've downloaded the pack. I've done the repair thing in the EA app and still nothing. I'm not running mods right now because I know that's always the first thing to check. 

  • I'm literally going through the same thing right now omg!!! I haven't been able to find a solution to it yet but both the Storybook Nursery Kit and the Artist Studio Kit is bugged out :/ They're getting flagged as Bas Game it's so annoying

  • For anyone else running into this issue, I had to follow these steps on my Windows PC:
    1. Search PC for EA App Updater
    2. Launch Application
    3. Once complete, Open Task Manager
    4. Find EA Background Service and Select 'End Task'
    5. Relaunch the EA App

    Once I relaunched the app, the pack download began on its own.
    I also had to do a Sims 4 System Update.

    This resolved the issue for me.

      My game won't give me the option to update so i'm guessing my game is up to date yet i'm still having many gaming issues at this point bc i've done everything i possibly can i'm hoping it self resolves everything the new pack installation (i'm guessing) broke/messed up... any other ideas i'd Loooooove to hear them cause my gaming time being taken away isn't what's up

    I have not bought L&D yet but I eventually want to buy it, however I am also not able to see any data related to the EP in my game. No world icon, no checkbox in build buy filter or anything like that. 

    Have tried all the usuall fixes that I can think of, cleared cache, new sims 4 folder, no mods etc. I hope that there will be a fix soon!

      I did the exact same, everything you just mentioned and more in my case... tbh my game didn't start going nuts and messing up until i bought and downloaded the L&&D pack... i don't think it's mods in my own opinion i think it;s the game itself. beacsue many many ppl are reporting issues since this latest update, and the issues are coming on not just pc's and mac's but also consoles and i've heard consoles can't have mods... at first i wasn't able to play my game for a good i believe 4 days at least!! then the following day my game self resolved some issues i had... 

      But issues were still there so i cleaned my game and my entire laptop along with mods etc. still had issues, but fortunately when seeking sims 4 gaming issues and seeing i wasn't the only one, a video showed where the game is now automatically changing itself to Directx11 (if i'm saying that correctly) instead of Directx9, but go into the game, under options, down on the right side there's Directx9... it should help some if not all the way... for me it helped only some....

      There another video on youtube speaking about the Directx11 and 9... it's called Directx9 Expert Shares Secret to Reversing Directx11 Switch on the Sims 4... so far this is all i can say but again it didn't help with all the new issues in my own game but hopefully for others it does. 

      if this works for you or you've found another solution for issues such as 

      Saved Household Overlapping

      when going into game mode the screen gets a freezing dark color that won't let you play

      the game won't let you click on sims to interact (that got a bit better) but not to my liking of okay it works like no tomorrow.

      if you see or hear solutions to these please please post and share :)

    Same here!!! I have no mods downloaded or anything, and I downloaded the pack in the ea app but when i open the sims it says "download to use". all my other packs say owned and ive tried everything. let me know if someone finds out how to fix it :(

  • bluegadian  Please go to ea.com, sign in, open Account Settings > Order History, and list the status of your order: Completed, Processing, or Failed.  If it's stuck Processing, you may be able to cancel the order and purchase again.  The early-order bonus items are still available.

    laylaa1021  Please run a search for the pack's folder.  Open a File Explorer window, click This PC in the left panel, and enter EP17 in the search field in the upper-right corner.  Wait for the search to finish, then expand the window sideways so the full path to each folder is visible.  Use Windows key-shift-S to take a screenshot, and attach it to a reply here.

      puzzlezaddictI am experiencing the same issue. Here is my screenshot per your instructions. 
      I pre-ordered the game and installed it the day it was released. However, it says it is not installed in the game. When I look at the pack in EA Games app, it says that it is purchased and gives me the option to download. However, when I click on download, it just doesn't do anything. Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated!

       

  • Adrifull  If these are the only results from the search, then the pack is clearly not installed at all, which is not a surprise given that you can't download it in the first place.  The problem might be that the transaction didn't go through.  Sometimes players can install new content as soon as they click to pay, but then the transaction fails later and the EA App blocks access to the content.

    Please go to ea.com, sign in, open Account Settings > Order History, and list the status of your purchase: Completed, Processing, or Failed.  If it's stuck processing, you may be able to cancel the order from there and buy the pack again.  If not, you'll need to contact EA customer support for help removing it so you can buy it again.
