Lagging

I have had sims 4 for a while now. I used to have multiple mods which never affected the gameplay. I have recently disabled all of my mods and the game was working fine. However the last 3-4 days, its taken about an hour of real life time to get my sims to do anything. They get stuck when I demand they do the most simple tasks. The issue today, is my sims will not do anything. They are stuck, doing nothing. I have troubleshooted the game, restarted it, reduced my graphics to the lowest possible setting, got the simulation lag mod - and nothing is working. The game is unplayable. I have loads of expansion packs which if this cant be fixed, I demand a refund from. I recently bought a bundle, and if I cant play it, then I demand my money back. I'm fed up of constantly having trouble with the most simple of tasks, its making the game a drab one to play.

  • footballnuts10  Please remove your entire Mods folder and test again.  You don't need to save your progress without your mods present.

If this doesn't help, please test a new save for comparison's sake.  If the new save is affected too, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

If the new save is fine, test your main save but with your sims' inventories completely emptied, and test the save with your sims moved to a different, default EA-made house or an empty lot.  (Don't place a lot from the Gallery on top of it.)  You don't have to save your progress here either.  The idea is to try to isolate the source of the problem, again only if the new save runs fine.
