Laptop to play Sims 4

I'm looking for a laptop to play sims 4, with all of the extra content packs. I live in the US and ideally would like it for $300 or less. I could pay more but please nothing higher than $600.

Links would be appreciated.

This is the best $300 laptop I'm seeing though, capable of running Sims 4, all current packs included, on medium graphics settings:

This one is a lot faster, something approaching twice as fast in gaming, meaning you would probably be able to play on high graphics settings:

The graphics chip in these is even faster than that, in the 20-30% range, but they're both $400:

None of these laptops have 16 GB memory, which would be nice to have but is not strictly necessary for Sims 4 alone.  If you do want 16 GB RAM rather than 8, the cheapest option I saw that also had hardware at least as good as anything on this list was this one, for $433:

In terms of performance, it slots in between the first two laptops listed above and should run Sims 4 on medium-high graphics settings.  So this is a question of your highest priority: running Sims 4 as well as possible, or being able to multitask.

There aren't a lot of good options out there at the moment, at least as far as I can see, but these are about as good as I'd normally find; it's just that there are fewer suitable laptops than normal.  However, if none of these is what you want, let me know why, and I can try to find something more to your liking.

  • KathrynEPlace89  That's not a gaming laptop, and its product description is basically false advertising.  It's also multiple tiers below the laptops I linked in terms of in-game performance.  I hope it's working for you, but I would never recommend it at that price, at least not if the goal is to play Sims 4.

it was only at that price because it was on sale. it also has great reviews. it has the backlight keyboard like a gaming laptop would. it actually had two different options. N95 or N100. many people love it. there's one review that says "if you're looking for a solid gaming laptop that can handle just about mostly anything, this is a great pick. it's fast, runs super smooth even with heavy games, and the graphics look amazing."

  • KathrynEPlace89  To be honest, that's such a misleading review that I would guess it's from a paid reviewer or someone else connected to the company, or at the very least someone fishing for a freebie.  The N95 and N100 processors are new-ish but low-end CPUs, far below the minimum requirements of most newer AAA games, and their graphics chips are even worse.  (Check Hogwarts Legacy or Baldur's Gate 3 or the new Dragon Age if you're curious.)  And I meant that the sale price was still too high for the hardware; the regular price (if it's ever actually priced that high) is simply ridiculous.

As I said, I do hope it's working for you, but it is not an objectively good choice for Sims 4, at least not in that price range, since there are much more powerful options available.

I only play Hogwarts Legacy on my Xbox one since I have only played Harry Potter games on any of my consoles. I don't believe I have ever played one on a computer, so I wouldn't know. But the laptop comes with a lot of memory, also you can choose from 16GB ram+1TB SSD or 16GB ram+512GB SSD for either. I mean, I would agree with you about the sale price, but when I was still looking for a laptop myself, I would come across one that I liked, but the sale price was high if I wanted it in a different color and more memory. Or if I just wanted a different color because it had the memory I wanted. One color would have the sale price actually lower, but each different color, the price went up higher. It was insane. Yeah, it's working great for me. The only problem I'm having is One Drive not opening or signing me into my Microsoft account that I'm already signed into. Other than that, I have had no problem playing the Sims 4. Except for at first, I thought my main household was messed up because at first, I could load the save with them living at Hogwarts built by just the base game, but then later, I could click load that save, click where they live, but it would never load for me to play. I heard that maybe things from the gallery that use bb.moveobjects have been corrupting people's saves and that's what was the only thing used to build the Hogwarts I got from the gallery. So, I recovered that household to before I moved them into Hogwarts. And it's been working great. Besides my Sims thinking they need to run or jog everywhere instead of walk.
