Low quality shadows

Hi Simmers!
Few months ago I posted this issue:

Jagged shadows in the game | EA Forums - 11826142

Unfortunately nothing changed in my game (nothing helped either). I'm opening this topic once again because I recently bought a new computer.... and the problem is still the same.

My new specs are: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, RTX 4060 (laptop) , 16GB RAM, Windows 11.

Interestingly, I have the exact same problem on both my old desktop and the new laptop.

Now I'm sure I can not be the only person playing the Sims who has a problem with shadows in the game. I have completely two different platforms and the problem is exactly the same.

I think that either there is something just broken in the game itself, but perhaps the problem is in the graphics card driver (?). The graphics card driver I currently have installed is NVidia Game Ready ver. 572.83.

Please take a look at the shadows in your game and let me know how they look in your game.
I am especially interested in the situation in other Simmers using GTX/RTX series graphics cards.

  • frosnese2  Some people probably do have the issue and don't care.  Others may not due to their settings.  Please try my previous suggestions on your new laptop just to confirm that they don't help there either.  I know it would be a little odd for them to fix the problem on one system and not the other, but it's happened before.

I personally haven't noticed jagged shadows in Sims 4, but then I'm used to Sims 3, where shadows are sometimes horrible, and I've learned to ignore it.
