Since the July update my mermaid's legs when turning back to a sim have the scales from their tail and no pants other than the default underwear and shoes I didn't put her in. I don't play with mermaids often but it wasn't doing this a couple weeks ago.
are you using mods/cc ? if so, did you test without them ?
Hi my sim had this happen when she was pregnant. At the time she was in the last trimester, I've never had a pregnant mermaid go swimming in the ocean before, she did it autonomously while I was in control of her son and I swapped to her as she was finishing her swim so thought it had just randomly glitched out because of that. She was in a two piece bikini so I changed her into a full body swimsuit and it didn't happen again. I got rid of it when it happened by choosing "change outfit" from her personal pie menu and changing her outfit. It only happened after the transition out of her mermaid form when reaching land. Ps4 no mods, CC or in game cheats.
Not as bad as the other bug where the bottom half of their body disappears in mermaid form. lol.
