My Game Crashes After Loading

Hi, I really hope someone can help.

Every single time I open any Sims 4 Household, the game crashes after loading completely. I have tried almost everything on these forums (clearing the cache, changing the graphics card, checking all my mods). Nothing works.

I was wondering if anyone could help me?

Same for me! I load the game and the load game sorta works but have been trying to start new and it freezes after 2 clicks when trying to customize the Sim. Also tried clearing the cache, updating drivers, graphics settings, updated my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled EA and Steam and so far nothing has worked. Hopefully someone knows a fix!

  • carcute21  Sorry for the late reply.  If you still need help, does this happen with a new save too?  Does it happen if you remove your Mods folder?  You don't need to save your progress; this is just for testing.

VaneX16  It sounds like you have a different issue.  If you've removed your Mods folder (or don't use any mods or custom content) and this still happens, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Hi, yes i have tried all and upon loading, it crashes immediately with an error message saying "breakpoint reached." I then tried repairing windows and the sims 4 with cmd prompt and the same error message occurs

  • carcute21  Please increase the size of your computer's page file, which is relatively small and almost all used.  The page file is where the processor stores data that should be in RAM but doesn't fit, and while 8 GB memory is technically enough for Windows and Sims 4, it may not be enough for everything else running in the background too.  One cause of a breakpoint error is the game running out of memory, so I think this may be the root of the problem.

Anyway, here's how to increase the page file size (option three):

    https://www.elevenforum.com/t/manage-virtual-memory-paging-file-in-windows-11.8618/#Three

Set the minimum to 12288 and the maximum to 16384, and restart your computer, then try to play.
