- Hello.
Sims 3 package files won't work in your game. Check to see what the name of the files are and if you recognise any of the names from sims 3 CC that you have downloaded.
Do the files have the same name as they did when you first downloaded your sims 4 cc?
Have you downloaded any new CC lately, that you may have thought was for sims 4 but was for sims 3.
It would be best to take them out of your mods folder. - hi @charityxelizabeth some users have accidentally installed sims 3 package files and up until recently could have them installed though not show up in the game with out the game crashing. a recent patch should now stop this. see this cc guide for help. http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:TS4_CC_Basics
i myself have not seen any creator wrongly name a file. but if you think its happening just post the link, remove the first part of the address since you are a new member. - You have likely installed a tool that changes the displayed name of the file type. This doesn't change any of the files and will not cause any problems.

I noticed when organizing my mods folder earlier that all of my Sims 4 content now says that they're "sims3.package" files... I'm PRETTY sure that they're not supposed to be called that... Will they still work in my game or will they cause issues? I have no idea how their file type changed to sims3.package files.
I have the same issue but my game is crashing and they are all Sims 4 CC, I installed a tool which changed it and I didn't know. Can anyone help me?(how to change it back?)

If you installed s3pe, remove that from your computer and see if that helps your issues."GeekThenChic;15445501" wrote:
@rosemow yep,I have done that but I still am having the same problem
Hello
This link may help
https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-change-file-associations-in-windows-2624477- I am having the same exact problem. I went to the link that rosemow provided and followed the instructions. The problem is that there is no option for any Sims related files. I installed s3pe a few months ago when I went back to playing Sims 3. Once I uninstalled Sims 3 again I also went to uninstall s3pe. Well, even though I removed it, my Sims 4 CC all says "Sims3 package". I have scoured the internet and have yet to find a resolution. It's really irritating.
- For some reason, under the file type they do show up as "Sims3Package" files, but they are Sims 4 CC and they do work in my game. I don't know what happened there, but all of my Sims 4 CC is working just fine. Haha!
Thank you both for your help, anyways. :) "charityxelizabeth;835937" wrote:
