permissions error when updating the sims 4

i just went to update my game it gets to literally 2% then an error message pops up saying that the ea app doesn't have full permissions to update the game. ive tried the suggestions of clearing the games cache and running it as administrator but they've both not worked.

i do have cc in my game idk if thats an issue or not but if anyone has any suggestions i can try im all ears

p.s pls dumb it down im not the most techy person :p

  • canny-7anny  Try running the EA App as an admin: right-click the desktop shortcut and select "Run as administrator."  Then try to repair the game: EA App > Sims 4 > Manage > Repair.

If this doesn't help, please post a screenshot of the error.  Please also list the antivirus you use, and the location where Sims 4 is installed.  You can see that under Manage > View properties.

this is the new message thats popping up now. its running as admin, ive reinstalled he app and ive moved files around idk what to do :(

  • canny-7anny  This is also antivirus-related.  So please let me know which one you use, or else disable it while trying to update or repair Sims 4.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.

If this helps, set exceptions for TS4_x64, TS4_DX9_x64, and TS4_Launcher_x64, or the entire Bin folder they're in.  Set one for EADesktop.exe as well.
