Re: Game Won't Launch

@hopestyles1  If you open the EA App first, then press Play within the App's game library, does Sims 4 open?  If not, do you see an error message, and what does it say?

If you can't launch Sims 4 from within the App, please try playing in a clean user folder, as a test.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't work either, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I have exactly the same problem. Nothing work for me. Not clean folder, not clean start windows. I don't use any modes or something. Just...don't work

@kir6739  Do you have any Razer software enabled, for example Cortex or Synapse?  If so, please uninstall it, restart your computer, and see whether you can play.  It's sometimes not enough to merely disable it in a clean boot.

If that doesn't help, did you in fact try a clean boot of Windows, like this?

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows-da2f9573-6eec-00ad-2f8a-a97a1807f3dd

If not, that would be the next thing to try, along with disabling anything else that's still running in the Task Manager and isn't from Windows/Intel/Nvidia.  But leave the EABackgroundService enabled since the EA App needs it in order to work.

I don't know how it works, but it's amazing. I deleted all the Razor software and the Sims is working. This, of course, raises questions for developers... But thank you so much!

So I did that and mine launched. I’m going to try doing the 50/50 from there and see what happens

I came across this post because of this problem and moving the folder helped. But now what? Do I have to keep playing like this?

@IndigoAnjel  No, you don't have to keep playing like this, but you do need to test the content from your old folder that you want to keep.  Start with mods and custom content, if you have any, and you can use the 50/50 method if you have a lot of files to sort through:

    https://modthesims.info/wiki.php?title=Game_Help:Finding_Problem_Custom_Content#The_50.25_Method

Once you've done that, you can transfer the contents of saves and Tray (saved households and builds), UserSettings.ini if you care about event rewards, plus Screenshots and Recorded Videos if you care about those.  The game will regenerate the rest as necessary.

My mods folder is still intact for the new sims 4 folder with all my custom content inside. But when I launch none of it is there. What do I do?
