Would something such as WickedWhims count? I suppose that would make sense considering it comes with it's own modded-in options and such, but I'm just asking to be sure. I'll try it regardless just to see, but.
- crinrict7 years agoHero+yes it would. Make sure to get the newest version for it.
Pretty sure I already did, unless it had an update in the past... Week (more or less) ago. Either way, testing it now.
Well, I tried it, but I still have no access to the computer. I even tried making a new save with the mods being gone, that didn't work. Any other ideas?

Try resetting your user files as described in the factory reset described in this post: http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4/FAQ-Troubleshooting-Steps-amp-Known-Issues/m-p/3621199
You won't loose anything. Just make sure to not delete any files and make a backup.
After renaming, repair your game by right clicking on the game in Origin.
Try on a new game with nothing added back first (start new game). If it works, put back your save game and try again. If it still works, you can start putting stuff back.
- Options.ini (or just re-set all your settings manually)
- Tray Folder
- Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
- Rest of the save games (leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave and no longer needed - if you still have it)
- Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, make up ....
- Mods (one by one, making sure they all still work)
The rest does not need putting back, cause they are mostly cache files that recreate or log files that are not needed for the game.
That didn't work either. Are there any other options?
- crinrict7 years agoHero+Is the computer menu the only one where you have issues or are you missing other interactions ?
Did you also repair the game ? It's just the computer, yes, I did repair the game.
- crinrict7 years agoHero+And I assume it doesn't matter which computer you use ?
Could you try a new windows user ? Just create a new user then start the game form there. You will not see any of your files cause you're on a different user. Start a new save yet again and check if that helps. - crinrict7 years agoHero+
@HH546 Something just occurred to me. What desk are you using ? Have you tried using a different desk ?
I use the most expensive desk, chair, and computer all at once when testing. Doesn't work. Also, I made a new windows user... I made a new save, but for some reason it only gives me the unclickable use option in the rain. I put it inside or outside when there's no rain and there's no options at all. I didn't get to see it in the rain in any previous saves, so it's probably the case there, too. Any ideas based off of that?

There's currently a known issue with the Front Desk from the GTW pack that causes all options to disappear (but it still has the Order Option as far as I remember) so yours still sounds different.
Could you add some pics to illustrate ?
You can use the weather machine to change the weather to see if anything changes.
Here are the three PNGs. During the rain, I get the transparent use button that you see in the PNG. Outside of rain, as you can barely see, there's a white outline. If the mouse was visible, you'd see it had the cursor with the two gears, indicating it's usable. I click it in that state, and nothing appears. The third PNG is the sim autonomously using the computer. I have no control over it.
- crinrict7 years agoHero+Since you're outside, the first one seems as expected (as the message says).
As for no rain, looks like something is blocking the menu but totally unclear what as you have done all the troubleshooting to make sure there's no left-over mods stuff.
I do assume you also used different Sims and houses in your tests (just making sure we're covering all the angles) Yes, I have tried using other sims and vacant houses. The only thing I haven't done is use another sim family computer, (aka travel to the Landgraabs, the Goths, etc. and using their computer) but I doubt that would help anything.
- crinrict7 years agoHero+Wouldn't hurt to try at this point though. It's the same computer I tried for testing and the menu pops up for testing but to cover everything, do try a different computer.
Funny you should say that, I just tried, same thing.
I just thought of something. Are there any possible mods that could fix UI, or force possible actions by teleporting them to where to go and making them do it in some way?
- crinrict7 years agoHero+I don't really understand what your saying, tbh and I'm not really aware of what kinds of mods are out there.
Another thing: Do you have any lastexceptions or lastUIexception files being generated ? Oh, for some reason I appear to have two, even though the mods should be gone. How do I post the contents? Should I just reply with what's in them? I can't put them up as a link or anything, so.
- crinrict7 years agoHero+
You can't attach them through select file ? What kind of error are you getting when you do ?
Maybe zip them and upload the zip file ?
EDIT: Just tested and yeah, uploading as txt doesn't seem to work for some odd reason. Zipping worked for me.
Strange, for some reason I can't submit the .rar, and when I change it to a .zip it says that's unsupported. Maybe I should just put it into a drive link?
- crinrict7 years agoHero+Sure, whatever works.
Alright, here's your link. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f4hcv3pZxCrfm0sWgAJdxzbbTw1oNNr2/view?usp=sharing
- crinrict7 years agoHero+Guess that's what's happening. The game fails to generate the menu properly. Not sure what's causing this though.
Let me get back to you. Maybe meanwhile someone else has another idea.
