Sims 4 isn’t working after new update

My game hasn’t been working since the 10/22 update (weird thing is that the game made me update it twice)

Whenever I go to start a new game the screen turns white and does nothing else, I haven’t tested but I’m pretty sure it’s the same for CAS

When I open profiles in the relationship panel nothing shows up and my sim’s current mood and stuff panel is blank

When I enter Build/Buy everything is fine but when I exit it seems like I’m stuck in build/buy mode and then my game crashes

I’ve updated my mods so I don’t know what’s happening

Update: I don’t know exactly what happened but the game updated again and now it works…I also updated a mod that I forgot I had

That would take me three, maybe four days (‘cause my internet is terrible) that would be my last resort if I don’t manage to fix it within a month

I did some digging and fixing it myself and I believe I may have found a resolution. I went to my files folder and then on the sidebar I clicked “downloads” and found EAsppInstaller and double clicked on it and it gives you the option to “Launch the EA App” or “Repair” and I clicked “repair” and loaded the game after, and it’s been working properly since. And I’ve been playing for about an hour without any glitches so far.

the only glitch I’m still having is going into build mode and nothing comes up and then when I try going back to live mode the game messes up, but otherwise the games working for me for now until it can be actually resolved.

  • LilyfrostTheMed  Try changing these settings:

    Game won’t launch | EA Forums - 4992631

If that doesn't help, try this:

Managed to fix my problem where it crashes during launch after update | EA Forums - 4998584

If that doesn't help either, please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • LilyfrostTheMed  Your dxdiag crashed while running and is missing some potentially relevant information.  So please generate a new one, but first, run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Try to play again, and if you can't, please post a new dxdiag.

If you'd like to try another troubleshooting step in the interim, a clean boot is a good idea:

The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run.  Disable the rest as described.

When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example something like MSI Afterburner or HP bloatware might still be enabled.  If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.

Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.
If this helps, you can selectively reenable services until you find the culprit, then either leave that disabled or (if it belongs to an app you want to keep using) let me know what it is so we can try to fix the underlying issue.

If the game freezes or crashes in a clean boot, please try again, except with your computer offline.  You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

This is the message I got from the administrator, I am now going restart my computer and check for updates.

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located at
windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offline
repairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.
