Sims 4 keeps crashing

My game keeps crashing recently.

-When I choose "Resume Game" -> load a few secs then Crash.

-When I hit "Play" then choose a family in the world -> Crash

They both crash before and after remove Mods folder.

And when I go to CAS in Manage World -> also Crash.

Can experts please help me read the Last Crash file?

I did do Repair the game from EA and Clear Cache from App Recovery. And AE app also crash once.

  • kanhanah  Please try adding back the mods and custom content you were previously using when playing this save.  In particular, custom tattoos seem to be a possible cause of this issue, or rather removing them.

puzzlezaddict sorry for the last response, the game crashes even when I only have the Save folder in Sims 4 and nothing else. Per instruction, I use Load game and new household, I try with my custom sims and EA sims, both go to the loading screen with the green Sims symbol a few second then crash.

  • kanhanah  In general, lastcrash files don't have any information that's usable to anyone outside the developers and QA, so I don't really need to see one.  The next question is, if you copy your save to the new Sims 4 folder, but nothing else yet, does it crash?  And if so, when does it crash: before or at the Main Menu, when you select the save to load, or at some other time?

When testing, please use Load Game rather than Resume, and choose a different household, one you've never played before, just as a test.

puzzlezaddict Thank you for your instructions.

I remove the whole folder and it does not crash anymore. I try to attach the Last Crash files but the website does not let me upload them. Is there a way I can send it here or send it for your review?

I have been playing the old save for a long time so I really want to continue with it.

    Have a nice day.

  • kanhanah  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If you get another crash, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

The lastcrash file didn't attach, but it's mostly indecipherable to people who don't work for EA anyway.
