Sims 4 Product code

I brought Sims 4 through steam and I didnt get a product code. I have contacted EA games and after supplying all the information they asked for they closed my case and I still dont have a product code.

  • @Looneybin1978  You're not supposed to get a product code when you buy Sims 4 through Steam.  Instead of registering the game in Origin, you install and launch it through Steam, which then prompts you to link your Steam and Origin accounts.  This in turn allows you to play Sims 4 and makes the game appear in your Origin library, although you'll still need to play through Steam.

@Looneybin1978  Go to ea.com, sign in, click your profile picture and then Account Settings, click Connections, and see whether the Steam account that owns Sims 4 is connected.  If it is, make sure you sign into Origin with the same account (use the same email address) that you used on ea.com.

If your Steam account is connected to a different Origin account, you'll need to sign into that account instead in order to play Sims 4.

If your Steam and Origin accounts are in fact connected, please run both Steam and Origin as an admin: right-click on each one's shortcut and select "Run as administrator."  Then try to play.

If this doesn't work either, please post a screenshot of the error you get.

@Looneybin1978  That's not how things are supposed to work: the accounts should connect automatically when you try to launch Sims 4, no product code needed.  Since that's being blocked though, let's try another way.  Go to ea.com in a different browser or in a private window so that you're not already signed in.  Instead of entering your Origin username or email, click the Steam logo at the bottom of the page, and enter the username and password of the Steam account that owns Sims 4.  Let me know what happens.

If you get signed in properly, go back to Account Settings as before, and take note of your EA username and email address.  You don't need to tell me what it is; just sign into that account within Origin and then see whether Steam lets you launch Sims 4.

If you can't sign in to ea.com with your Steam credentials, please post a screenshot of the error you get.

@Looneybin1978  When you sign into ea.com with your Steam login, do you get into the same Origin account you're using now?  The point is not to sign in, the point is to sign in AND confirm that the EA login details are correct.  Please let me know either way, and double-check that you're signed into Origin using the same email address you see on ea.com when signing in with your account.

If that's not the problem, please let me know what antivirus you use, if any, and whether Origin works properly when you sign into it, specifically whether your game library loads and whether Sims 4 is listed there.

@Looneybin1978  Try temporarily disabling AVG, as described here:

    https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlname=Disable-AVG-Antivirus

As long as you don't do anything other than try to play, your computer should be safe.  If this helps, you can set exceptions for Origin, Steam, and Sims 4 (TS4_64.exe) within AVG.

Otherwise, please contact EA customer support to make sure that there's nothing wrong with your Origin account or the link to your Steam account, or your copy of Sims 4 for that matter.
