Sims 4 startup screen crashing

Question

After the recent update, when I opened my Sims 4 game, this is what the starting screen looked like... I tried repairing the app, I uninstalled it, and I restarted my computer. But it didn't do anything, also none of the buttons on the screen work, and I can't close the app without using Task Manager. Any suggestions as to what I should do?

Rename your Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder to something else and test the game.

Having this problem too! So far moving mods, repairing, etc., hasn't been able to solve this problem for me.

Thanks, it turns out I had to clean my mods folder and delete the mod that changed the background in the main menu.😅
