adriannajam Try manually uninstalling and reinstalling your VC++ runtimes, which Sims 4 uses and which the EA App may be hanging while trying to install. Open Windows Settings > Apps, scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables, and uninstall any version from 2015 or newer. Don't touch the older versions. You can get new copies here, under "latest supported redistributable version":

You need both the x86 and x64 versions but not the ARM one. Restart your computer after installing these and before trying to download Sims 4.
If that doesn't help, format the flash drive to something else (e.g. exFAT) and then back to NTFS, eject it in software (right-click the drive name in File Explorer and Eject), restart your computer again, create a new folder on the drive, and try downloading Sims 4 to that folder.
i can try that again, but it’s currently doing the same slow download it did for me the other day. 2 hours later and it’s at 14%, shall i leave it again over night or stop the download and do what you suggested? i did try that the other day too and it seemed to work but when i went to play the sims after it installed it needed to be repaired through the EA app, where it got stuck on repair at 52%, and when i clicked on the sims 4 on my desktop it told me it was looking for the x64 file, is there a way to avoid this? perhaps i did it wrong i’m not entirely sure, i uninstalled the 2015 version and the 2015-2022 version and then installed the versions you mentioned but i found them in my downloads folder not in my sims folder
