Sims 4 will not load, either loops opening EA app or nothing at all

Hi! I have sims 4 on steam, in the past it has worked fine. When I click play it loads the EA app. Sometimes I just get the preparing game message, at other times the EA app opens. When I click on the Sims 4 game within the EA App it closes and opens the EA app again. I have run the EA app recovery file. I have also checked for updates with the EA app and other games still run on steam. I have deleted all my cc and mods. I have restarted my computer multiple times. I have logged out of the EA app. I have logged into a different EA account. I have tried it on a different windows user. I have also checked game integrity files and uninstalled and re-downloaded the game multiple times. None of these have worked. Was wondering if anyone could help me with this?

  • I've been having this same issue since yesterday. I closed out the game to do something then when I tried to open it back up it wouldn't, I've been watching tutorials and reading so many different things but none of them helped.

Exact same issue here. I've been trying to fix this bug where my loading screen freezes, but now I can't even open the game anymore.

  • hwuthering  Please let me know what antivirus you use.

Please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

klo_grace WinterSnapp  If you haven't already, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If that doesn't help, I'd like a dxdiag, as described above, and to know what antivirus you're using.
