Steam content locked problem

Because I used to play on Mac, I originally bought The Sims from Origin. Now that I have a Windows computer, I bought The Sims and a few DLC packs on Steam. It asked me to link my accounts, and for the first 3 days everything worked fine. I could log in and play without any issues. I was also able to use the DLC packs I had bought while using Mac in the game.

But today, after playing for a while and going to eat for a short time, I suddenly couldn’t access the game anymore. It keeps showing a “Steam content locked” warning. How can I fix this? I’ve been dealing with this since 8 o’clock and I’m really upset.

    DaddyAxrq​  Is this still a problem after restarting your computer?  Please also try to update Steam; it's fine if it's already up-to-date, just check.

    If you're still seeing the issue, try repairing the game.  In Steam, the option is called "Verify integrity of game files" and is under Sims 4 > Properties > Installed Files.
