System Updates on sims 4 pc

why does it now take 5/10 mins to load into main screen then a further 5 mins to load into the gameplay

do we not get these important updates to improve the game. I did overhaul my system with new hardware so that my system would run smoother as it should. And it DID, but sometimes I wounder what it is that takes up so much space on my system and almost doubles in size each time we have these critical/high/priority/updates. I SOMETIMES wish that high priority updates that are really not high or a priority updates need to be listed and if needed would then be updated by users. truly at times one does wounder if a update is truly helpful or just more bloatware that we truly will disable once done and never look back on it and just have to put up with the fact that we need the update and if no update the game will not run as it should. and now with these "MUST HAVE" events that are now a constant pain and prevents me from my simple love of the simple game play. are the sim gurus here with me in person no so as a Individual player can that Individual player choose to play as they truly wish to play we are not in it for the "EVENTS"  we are in for the game play and what we the player gets from that game play. that is the reason why we truly love the game because it has no demands from me to do this or must do that. since my last bought pack was life and death I as a player I had never been so excited to play the sims so badly, till this day I have yet to play this new DLC and have had great difficulty in keeping the game in working order, there has been many crashes since but never before. it has gotten quite frustrating doing my best to keep the game updated and isolated from my main system so as not to crash and loose everything on my drive. this has happened on a few times after this last DLC that was downloaded to my system. so as a player am very weary of the pitfalls of thinking or even playing the game, by the time the game does what the game does is there truly any time left for me to have actual game play time. as all the time is take with the game thinking of loading and then me thinking has it crashed as it takes so long to load.

  • ttxqc72e12mn  Did you mean this post as feedback or a request for help?  If it's feedback, I can move it to the Feedback forum.

If you'd like help though, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

Please also let me know how the game runs, and how long it takes to open, when you move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  If it copies instead of moving, or you get an error when trying to move it, stop here and let me know.

Otherwise, when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

The EA App will budget the entire size of a given game, or sometimes only the size of the base game, when updating it.  You should get back that space when the update is finished.  You can avoid the problem entirely by repairing instead of updating, which gives you the updated version.
