Solved

Unable to start because a file appears to be corrupted.

The file in question is \EP07\ClientFullBuild0.package

Game worked perfectly on Monday and currently it fails to initialize.
I spent a few hours on trying to fix the issue, but to no avail.
Here are the things I tried so far:

  • Repair the game
  • Reinstall
  • Update the drivers and system
  • Make an exception in the Graphic options
  • Force it to launch in dx11, dx9 and windowed mode

I am thinking that maybe removing the file and forcing the game to reinstall it could be the way to go about it.. But I'm not a software person so I'm not sure if that would be a good call.

The Steam file integrity checker says everything is fine, but obviously not since I'm constantly getting the same error.. I don't have any mods on my game and it seems like the issue started happening when the week 2 of the new event started.

If anyone has any tips on how I'd maybe be able to fix this, I'd really appreciate it.

  • So.. After trying a few more things I decided to just back everything up and delete the \EP07\ClientFullBuild0.package

That solved my issue.. I just reinstalled the Island Living from the EA app and everything seems to be working fine for now 👍

    Edit:
    Island Living = EP07
