White Screen After Minimize To Desktop

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Often (50% - 99%)
What is your current game version number? 1.99.305.1020
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Have everything except: Paranormal Pack, Journey To Batuu, and Realm Of Magic.
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Play the game full screen and minimize to desktop for few minutes and than try to return to the game.
What happens when the bug occurs? White Frozen Screen.
What do you expect to see? Being able to return to game as normal.
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Yes
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Neutral/Not Sure

Is this happening to anyone else? I play the game full screen but sometimes I have to minize the game to desktop for few minutes and when I tried to return to the game all I get and see is a white frozen screen and the only option is to restart my pc. This happens almost all the time to the point that I'm getting used to save the game before minimize it to desktop. I do have mods and cc but it is all updated to the latest patch 1.99.305.1020. Playing a fresh new vanilla/no mods or cc game makes no difference. Like I said Im getting used to pause and  save the game beforehand but it does get annoying especially when I have to rely on being able to be away from the game for few minutes. Does anyone know of a fix? Thanks.

  • @Katiardguez  Try playing in "windowed fullscreen" (i.e. Borderless) instead.  Many older games respond badly when the user alt-tabs out in fullscreen mode, which is one reason Borderless mode exists.

  • @Katiardguez As of lately I'mplaying in full screen and after minimizing the game to desktop for some minutes there is a blank white screen just for a few seconds, then the game is resumed without problems. Maybe you should again check without mods and delete the localthumbcache.package in your user folder.

@Gagea25 I have checked without mods/cc numerous times that I already lost count. I always delete localthumbcache.package before launching the game and have repaired the game numerous times as well. I have done everything possible to fix this issue but so far haven't find the solution yet. The only thing left for me to do is to continue what I been doing in order not to lose any progress in the game which is to save before minimizing the game to desktop
