Yes , another black screen post...

Hello all, i have spent a few hours now trying to fix my game after recent events. I feel like I have tried almost everything, and having come from a game that was working before the automatic update, it is a little frustrating to say the least. I currently get the game to launch, get past the logo screen, past the blue background and plumbob screen and then we get a black screen with the Sims cursor and music playing ( no text )

I have tried the following

  • checking/updating/removing mods and cc that are broken
  • Deleting local thumbcache
  • Deleting cache through the ea pc app
  • repairing my game through the ea pc app

Any ideas, please?

  • IvyYuuki  Have you tried removing the entire Mods folder?  If not, please do so now.

The next step would be playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs, that is if you can get that far.

If that doesn't help either, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
