Unable to connect to X

I'm trying to link my new save to my existing X/Twitter account, but I'm getting an error message whenever I click the option to connect. It says "Connection Failure: Failed to connect to Twitter" (please see attached photo). I didn't even get to the redirected page where I can type my X logins. The Sims Mobile and X apps were both up-to-date on my device, my Wi-Fi connection is stable, and there were no restrictions placed on my X account. I'm wondering if this is an ongoing issue for everyone.
