If the desire for the item was not there, there wouldn't be any problem to begin with, even if EA failed to communicate to the masses. The only problem would just be people complaining, "I WAS LOOKING FORWARD FOR THIS EVENT TO END AND A NEW ONE TO START!" Or somewhere along those lines. I guess you can say purchasing the donut at that very moment would have been a gamble (timeline extension or not). Either way, it's both EA and the consumers' fault.
This is utmost stupidity. Have I walked into the twilight zone today or...
Of course one would desire to get an item you have been striving to get for a month! Duh! And I got all the whacking day prizes so this doesn't apply to me but the logic used here is a joke.
I did say, "desperately enough to spend *money*." If they didn't spend donuts, there wouldn't BE a problem.- Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember being able to purchase the valentines day items with donuts, EA knew what they were doing and banked on 'desperate' customers to speed up the last snakes in order to achieve their goal. After one has been relentlessly whacking for the best part of a month, of course they would be desperate.

See, you're assuming things. You're assuming EA is ripping people off. What if they just extended it for courtesy sake?
Still, it boils down to whether you spend real money or not. I'm pretty certain there are other people who were 300-800 snakes close to getting the Sleep-Eazy and they probably didn't spend money, even if they did have money to purchase those "last minute" snakes. As bummed out as those people probably were at the time, they most likely accepted the fact they couldn't/wouldn't get it.- You're missing the whole point. You state it's the customers fault for being desperate to get the prizes. Of course they would be desperate, it was set up that way by EA. You cannot say they shouldn't have been desperate to get them . That's the whole point of the game.
Edit: You say 'if the desire wasnt there', if you are playing this game then the desire is there. - I hope you get your refund.
- See it's things like this ea do that certainly make me say no to purchasing donuts. Good marketing ea, kick the serious spenders in the gonads, I can also see where neo is coming from to, you did technically spend them on your own free will, though I doubt you would have knowing that WD would be extended.
- Wow my comments sparked a conversation
I totally agree EA should communicate with us here or facebook more that's very true :) It would be nice if they did for sure :) Then these sort of cases my not happen, providing people check these sites of course lol
I wasn't trying to be out of order by saying it was by choice the OP spent the donuts, I just think that is how EA would look at it, I could be wrong of course but always worth an ask :)
An old phrase but a good one....... "You don't ask...you don't get" NeoSEC28 wrote:

This is going to be an ongoing issue now with ea as more people start playing the game. Unfortunately ea can't please everybody, so they need to set specific dates for these content updates to end and stick to it, as with WD there was plenty of time to get everything IF you were committed enough to do so. I understand people get locked out and such but maybe it's time to look at other areas, such as upgrading there servers to allow more access and less issues and more time making things bug and glitch free. IMO I just can't see how it's fair to people who brought extra stuff with donuts in fear of not making it in time, and they extend WD at the latest possible minute, to me that's not fair. Like I said I understand people get locked out and such but it's time they look after there long time serving players and donut spenders instead of dangling the carrot infront of new players.- Asking donuts back because you thought that the even would end on the 9th is not a valid reason in my opinion... Did EA tricked you on spending donuts? Yeap! Did they force you to spend them? Nope! Refunds in here should be only taken for a children's misuse, donut loss glitches and real money characters or decorations glitches aka the Texan or even for the harp incident....

The more and more I read about it, it's starting me to realise and start to dislike ea's shady approach, same as the donuts in the present boxes when you level up. It basically states chance to win 1-3 donuts and 50g to select again. Now it doesn't state you will have to gamble what you have to receive another chance ASWEL as 50g. What is this? The corleone family running a smart phone app syndicate?
