Feedback: Make post-processing effects separate options

Product: EA SPORTS™ WRC
Platform:Steam-PC
Summarize your bug Feedback: Please separate the post-processing effects to separate settings. It is considered industry standard to at the VERY least make depth of field a separate toggle. The amount of blur that depth of field is adding in this game is giving myself and others headaches in the menus. DLSS even thinks all of the depth of field blur is an issue and cleans it all up and makes it sharp effectively meaning that the effect is running on the GPU for absolutely no reason. The blur is so bad that in vehicle select screens the whole car can be blurry. Ideally every post processing effect would be a separate option.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? play the game with post processing on. Observe the background behind vehicles. Turn DLSS on Observe the background blur disappear. This is the same for vehicle selects.
What happens when the bug occurs? GPU time is wasted rendering a post processing effect that DLSS is then having to clean up. Depth of field is also an accessibility option as the blur can give players motion sickness.
What do you expect to see? an option to disable background blur/depth of field

  • @Scoot_Thanos I should also add that the background blur from depth of field also makes it completely pointless to be using high resolution textures in the distance, as this all gets completely blurred.

Hi, i'm kinda new to the forum's but I have dabbled a lot with some of the Unreal engine-powered games.

With a lot of Unreal powered games you can access and modify the INI files located in your Documents folder and enable or disable effects manually in Notepad or something similar.
A lot of these options can be found on websites like PCGamingWiki or the official Unreal Engine documentation.
However, I must point out that any edits you do, You do so at your own risk. Make a single edit, test it in a shakedown, and see if it works for you.

I would share a more in-depth post for this, but I am currently unsure as to how EA like people diving into the minutia of their game engines.

But you are right in your OP: Motion Blur, DOF and other Post-process effects should be in the graphics menus as individually togglable options.

Hope this was somewhat useful for pointing you in the right direction.

  • Agreed.

Putting PP to its higher settings turns the menu vehicles into a disaster.

Anything but the lowest PP setting also creates ghosting, even with the lowest AA setting (ie., which means it's not the AA producing this ghosting).

PP is making several messes at once; we wanna be able to control them.
