Controller Inputs not matching up

I have a similar issue to this post

Except launching it from the EA app instead still has the same controller input issues. Pressing A only happens on my Right Trigger, and B with my Left Trigger, while pressing down on the joysticks correspond to the left and right bumpers respectively. My controller is a PowerA wired Switch Controller, but I even tried using a Switch Pro Controller and nothing registered. 

The problem is that I tested out all the buttons and there's no corresponding buttons to press for clicking the left and right joysticks in a mission I had. Doing so corresponds to the bumpers, so that didn't register in-game. The controller layout in the settings is correct, or at least what it should look like where A corresponds to A, and the triggers to the triggers, but there's nothing I can do to change this.

Fortunately the y-axis on the right joystick still works even though it doesn't display on the circle on the screen where it draws the movements, whereas launching it from Steam wouldn't let me move up the y-axis at all, so that's how I've been able to at least play manageably, but I would still like to know how to fix this.
