JKC is hitting under protection when called to assist

Per discussion in thread:

https://forums.ea.com/idea/swgoh-bug-reports-en/omega-fugitives-riposte-does-not-ignore-protection/12419530

I did some testing and found that Jedi Knight Cal Kestis is indeed hitting under protection when called to assist using the special ability (inherited teachings) granted by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker's leadership ability. Given that this has a fairly dramatic affect on the strength of JMLS in virtually every game mode, I think this needs to be fixed at the highest priority.

Video proof:

As you can see in both the video and the screenshot, I am able to damage health without damaging protection which should not be possible given the desired functionality of riposte (that assist calls do not count as out of turn attacks)

Will have a chat with the design team about this inconsistency.

Sorry I didn't see this was in regards to a previous thread.

It's the whole point of Dooku's (and anyone) kit that they rely on counters for Riposte to work. That's why it's combined with high counter chance or just straight retribution. It would be a useless buff if they didn't count as attacks out of turn, as there wouldn't be any other way for it to trigger.

No, I'd say Gunner was wrong with that statement about assists. All the others are working properly.

He clearly said that Omega is working properly. The problem (bug) I am reporting is that JKC, malicos, and dooku are all bugged.

  • EA_Gunner is wrong - any ability used not on that characters turn, like an assist call or a counter attack, is considered an attack out of turn. Traya lead is a great way to test this - both counter attacks and allies being called to assist against Traya lead trigger her max health dmg, and thus both are actually out of turn attacks. So truly the riposte in the omega kit is actually working improperly, and all the other occurrences are working properly. Maybe we can have gunner come and clarify this I am sure he just misread the original question

This is intended. When Cal uses his Duel Wield form, he gains locked Riposte which allows attacks to hit under protection. He also assists in this form when another ally attacks out of turn.

Taron can also gain Riposte, so that is why he is also able to hit under protection.
