[AA] Can't place toast-tea kettle in world from personal inventory

As the title says. I had my sim put the item "toast-tea kettle" into his personal inventory (he has no space for multiple appliances), but when I wanted to remove it again to use, there was no option to "place in world". He could only select it as a "favorite".

I can successfully interact and "place in world" (and drag to place) every other item in my inventory, however. 

This can be recreated by purchasing the "toast-tea kettle" from build buy, and then placing it on a kitchen counter. Then have the sim "put in inventory". The sim will be unable to now place the item in the world.
