Aging up

I have been playing in a few different save files on my xbox and when aging up teens into young adults the pop up for a new trait just doesn’t appear and I know I can add it in CAS however for some reason even if I do add the trait my sims cannot woohoo and they will ask to have woohoo but then just quickly T-Pose and then just look like nothing happened this has also happened with my toddler just now when trying to age him up with a blue confetti cake lvl 6 cooking this has been impacting my game play in a very annoying way
